Hezekiah is in a spot. Another nation is coming to squish him. He’s receiving intel from all over the land that nobody, NOBODY can stand under the mighty power of Assyria. A letter he received reminded him of the destruction that the kings of Assyria had exacted. He was at the end of himself. So…

Isaiah 37:14 Hezekiah took the letter from the hands of the messengers and read it. Then he went into the sanctuary of God and spread the letter out before God.
He “spread the letter out before God”! God was pleased that Hezekiah did this and kept Judah safe.
Hezekiah laid the bad news before the Lord immediately. He didn’t call a council, he didn’t read a strategy book, he didn’t even complain or cry. He knew that this was bigger than him, but not bigger than God. He trusted and before the chapter was over, God took care of the situation.
